Top 10 Lighting Pins of 2012

Here at Pegasus, we love using Pinterest to discover and share things we love.  But we also love using Pinterest to see the the sorts of things you find inspiring, intriguing, or just plain fabulous. We pinned, you repinned. So, without further ado, here are our top 10 most popular pins from 2012…

10. Breathtaking Bathroom

I believe I must have *longingly* pinned this on some tired, too early Monday morning, but I see now you all were yearning for some weekend serenity too. The lighting itself is pretty top-notch – I mean, accent lights in the bathroom? Shazam! But when you pair that with a huge bathtub and a shower that looks like THAT…well, enough said.

9. LED Halos

I was thrilled to see you all out there on Pinterest were as excited about LED tape lights as I was. This pin shows them used in a modern-style bar to accent the TVs and toe-kicks.

 8. Hollywood at Home

Another tape lights pin? Looks like you all were just caught on tape in 2012 (pardon the pun). This one shows them adding a touch of glam to the home theater.

7. Floating Stairs

While no lighting product is pictured here per say, this pin is by no means divorced from the issue at hand. I love how these unique stairs let the natural light shine in between them, making an otherwise closed space feel airy and clean. (And obviously, you loved it too.)

6. Holiday Lights

The holidays are always a popular time for lights, so I’m glad you all loved this traditional Christmas tree pin. String lights can be a pain, but if you know how to wrangle them right, you’re in for a beautiful holiday season. Did you know, this image came from right here on the blog with this post on how to properly light artificial trees?

 5. Elegant Bathroom Chandelier

Leave it to Houzz to inspire us with this pin-tastic photo of an ornate chandelier in a very unexpected place. Just goes to show how the unexpected can sometimes be the most beautiful.

4. Color Changing Step Lights

One of our most exciting products, which you all seemed pretty excited about too, are these LED color changing step lights (update 9/26/2013 – this product is no longer available). They’re sleek and low-profile when you need them to be, but their many color-changing capabilities really let them pack a wallop when you want it.

 3. Natural Light

This amazing photograph really harnesses the grandiose qualities of light. It’s amazing how it can help us see the world. Anyone else want to hang this on your wall?

2. Mini Task Lights, Big Impact

These small desk lights add fun and function within this architectural bunk-bed frame. I have a feeling these beds would be any little kid’s dream.

1. Motion Sensor Under Cabinet Light

Who would have thought this relatively new product would have such an impact with you all? Well, I could have guessed, because it incorporates two of the most important qualities of a good pin. 1) It’s super convenient, and solves the problem of turning on lights when your hands are full or dirty. 2) It’s pretty!
